Holistic Issue Analysis

As a Pittsburgh based Nonprofit focused on Creative Advocacy, and Capacity building,
we start by looking at the big picture of each challenge—whether it’s about empowering underrepresented artists, supporting youth with media training, or fostering environmental solutions. This means considering social, economic, and policy factors together so we can help marginalized communities, especially Black communities, tackle problems at their roots.

Cross-Sector Collaboration

Real progress happens when we bring multiple partners to the table. We work with community leaders, nonprofits, local businesses, institutions, and organizations like CMU, Valley Clean Air Now, The Future Is Black, Cloud Collective, and AnnaBrewer Productions.
‍By combining art, technology, and environmental awareness, we create solutions that grow across different sectors—and last beyond a single project.

Value Co-Creation

We don’t just deliver services—we co-create them with those we serve. Through fiscal sponsorship, media & studio training, and drone tech opportunities, we make sure our audience—including youth, aspiring entrepreneurs, and underrepresented artists—gains the skills and resources they need to lead change themselves. In doing so, we help build long-term resilience in every community we touch.

Valley Clean Air Now a Grassroots Success Story

Valley Clean Air Now (VCAN), formed in 2019 from two grassroots groups in Mon Valley, has rapidly evolved into a powerful advocate against health and environmental injustices, thanks to strategic guidance from Liberate X. Initially a group without clear direction, VCAN, with Liberate X's help, established a 5-year strategic plan, transforming into an independent 501-C3 organization. Key achievements include a pilot program installing air filters in 236 homes, funded by a $50,000 grant, and securing an additional $305,000 in funding in 2023 for further expansion. Today, VCAN, supported by Liberate X in grant writing and organizational management, operates with a full staff, running impactful programs and achieving its mission of community betterment.

Empowering Youth Through Sport-Based Development-The Liberate X and Open Field Partnership

Liberate X, a Pittsburgh non-profit, collaborates with Open Field to empower over 1,000 youth in Western Pennsylvania and Africa through a unique blend of sports and digital networking. This partnership features an Open Field group on the Liberate X Online Platform, enhancing learning and training for youth. The initiative combines sports mentorship with digital resources, equipping young individuals with life skills and community support. This effective collaboration is setting a new standard in youth development and community engagement.
